Siren’s Lure

My winter is my life.

Snowy hills and clouded days.

Thundering lights and misty seas.

My siren’s voice reaches out once more as I see you pass,

I want to settle this score.

No more hopes wrapped up in fear.

I want you gone,

out of my life and head.

I see your ship slowly coming towards me.

Beckoning you still closer.

Finally it will be over.

no more suffering,

no more pain.

The ship lurches forward and my heart sinks slowly.

Maybe this wasn’t what I wanted,

not to hear your screams.

Tears run down my face as the pain returns.

It is not over still even though you are gone.

I thought this would help,

but it just made it hurt so much more.
