To Death

Walking the path to my own death did not scare me as much as it should.

I went quite peacefully into the foggy mist.

Not trembling at all even though the air was cool.

Not caring if my dress got wet from the grasses’ dew.

All I remember is feeling free,

knowing that at least someone was there.

I gladly accepted my death,

it had to happen at some time.

This was as perfect as it could have been,

it didn’t even hurt at all.

now I feel free,

I have nothing to worry about anymore.

All my worries are over,

my fears fled from me.
