I Saw His Fate

There was something in his eyes

Something I am unable to describe

In that moment I felt his pain

Felt him shudder

Felt his world fall like rain.

I saw into his soul,

I saw everything that he knows.

All the suffering

And all the sorrow that his lonely heart holds.

I wanted to hold him and comfort him,

Make his world good and whole.

I wanted to let him know that I loved him

That he meant the world to me

And that I didn’t want to let him go.

It seemed like I was never able to get through

To the person that he wanted to be.

He faded back into the world on his own,

Changing for me not to see.
