I Killed Him that Night

I said something to him that I shouldn’t have,

It really did seem to make him mad.

He stormed out of the house without a second thought

I was just trying to tease him, make him laugh

But he didn’t seem to notice, he didn’t smile.

I never saw him after that

I learned later he had never come back.

I guess he wasn’t paying attention when he crossed the road

I can’t help thinking it was what I had said

I can’t help think I was the one that cause him to be dead.
