Unchanging Time

The seasons change

But lives stay the same.

There is something almost magical

How everything around you is different

Yet, somehow, you remain unchanged.

Stay forever,

Dreading the day

When you will have to wake up

And face the emptiness of the world alone.

Life seems to exist

Yet you are separate from it for some reason.

There is an invisible barrier

Cutting you off from the people you love

Like a knife slicing through your soul

Severing the link with the person that completes you

Lost in eternity

Ever searching,

ever watching,

ever waiting,

For the one that will never come.

  1. Emptiness and loneliness, I can understand the poetry that you write here.
