I was there standing before you

Expecting you to care

I never meant to hurt you

I couldn’t help it.

The monster came out of me.

I thought for a time I was safe

You made me feel like a man

Not like the beast I was.

I knew you loved me,

I could see it in your eyes

I tried so desperatly to tame the beast inside

I didn’t mean to hurt you

You were the only one I ever loved

If only for a few days

You made me feel alive.
