Desolate Beginnings

Standing on a glass pedestal

At the edge of the world,

I see my fate before me.

My love by my side

Sheltering me from the storm.

Protecting me always.

Waiting for a wedding,

That will never come to pass.

The world has disappeared

Without a moments notice.

Leaving in its wake

The barren land

Of its yesterday’s.

Slowly the storm abates

And an array of color spills forth from the heavens.

Inspired by the painting “My Knight” by Ora.
