But I . . .

He was standing there

On the corner

Looking out at the great sunshine

And I

I couldn’t breath a single breath

I couldn’t look him in the eye

Though I had to try

But I . . .

I figured it out

What was right in front of me

What was there all the time

But I . . .

I just let it pass me by

Though now I sit and cry

Thinking him

I threw it all away

I thought I would have another day

Another day to try

But now . . .

I see the time has past me by

And now I’m waiting here to die

Goodbye

  1. So sad…putting things off doesn’t always pay…thanks for sharing your poem.
